Matt founded Fulcra Asset Management in 2009. Matt has 20 years of investment management experience, with an extensive background in fixed income and corporate investing. His previous experiences include managing corporate bond funds at Great Pacific Capital Corp, CI Investments and Marret Asset Management. In 2004, the $2 billion Signature High Income Fund that he co-managed at CI Investments was awarded the “Canadian Income Trust Fund of the Year” by Morningstar. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from the University of British Columbia.
Jason joined Fulcra in September 2017. Before joining Fulcra, Jason was an equity research associate at Canalyst, a VC-backed fintech startup that offers fundamental financial models to institutional finance professionals. Prior to Canalyst, he completed internships with a macro-driven equity hedge fund, and J.P. Morgan Asset Management in Toronto.
Chuck joined the company in October 2019. Chuck was born and raised in Vancouver and after completing his BSc in Mathematics at the University of Victoria, he travelled to the UK to pursue a semi-professional rugby career. Once settled in London, Chuck began his career in finance working with fixed income derivatives for Bank of America Merrill Lynch. During almost 10 years with the company, Chuck worked his way on to the trading floor and became a salesman on the high yield & distressed debt desk. Here he sold high yield bonds, credit default swaps and leveraged loans to large institutional investors and hedge funds both European and international.
Helen joined Fulcra in March 2019. Prior to joining the team, she completed a Master of Science in Finance degree at Simon Fraser University. During the MSc program, Helen participated in international business case competitions where she applied accounting theories and financial models to simulate and solve realistic business problems with a risk management focus. In her spare time, she is a certified snowboard instructor.
